North Warwickshire & Hinckley College and South Leicestershire College were amongst the first colleges in the country to submit workforce data to the new SIR Data Insights service. Both Colleges, who officially merged in August 2016 are led by Marion Plant, OBE FCGI, Principal and Chief Executive.
Earlier this month, we heard from Rachel Parker, HR Adviser Recruitment & Systems, who prepared data for the submission to the new SIR Data Insights service. Now we hear from Julie Ball, Financial Services Manager, who worked with Rachel on the data submission for both colleges:
“We were really impressed with the service this year.
We have contributed data to the SIR system in previous years but this has been the best year so far.
We submit data because we want to be part of the bigger picture and we know the data is needed to give a national view of the sector.
The submission process this year was much improved. When we uploaded the data file from our HR system it was very easy.
We only had to use the Help Desk on a couple of occasions for general queries and they were superb in the support that they offered. There was also good guidance on the website.
I particularly like the instant access to a view of the data you have just submitted. The data looks really helpful and interesting. There is a lot more data this year, so the service looks potentially very useful. You just need to capture the right data throughout the year and that will be easier going forward.
Overall, I would say the SIR Data Insights service is really easy to use.
The whole thing was a very easy experience for us.”
