The Staff Individualised Record (SIR) system records standardised details of all staff employed in the FE sector during the past academic year. The system provides management reporting and benchmarking facilities.The data collection facility for this year is known as SIR26 and is available via this site.
We will provide dashboards and benchmarks that will be publicly available at a national aggregate level categorised by type of provider. The dashboard at provider level will only be available to individual providers; we will not share your individual dashboard externally without your prior and explicit approval.
By submitting your data you are granting the Foundation a non-exclusive, irrevocable right to process your data at an aggregate level and allow other organisations to benchmark themselves against anonymised aggregations of the data. We may provide your data to third parties on the condition that they will only report on the data at an aggregate level. They will make a request for this data through the Foundation.
Significant changes that directly affect the sharing of your organisational data will be notified to you prior to taking effect.

Terms of Service
In line with the UK Data Protection Act 1998, the Foundation follows strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which providers submit on behalf of staff as part of the submission of the SIR. We will only use the information provided as stated below. We may share your provider data with a third party under the condition that they will only report on the data at an aggregated level. We want the information on this site to be open as possible, whilst respecting providers’ ownership of their data. When you submit SIR returns via this site we will ask you to create a provider admin login for your organisation. If you previously submitted SIR returns, we will use your data contact as the provider admin in the first instance. That provider admin will be responsible for the data submitted on behalf of your provider, and they can create additional provider level account/s to view, edit and input your data. If we receive contact from others in your provider wishing to access data, we will direct them to your provider admin.
